The Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant is available to students who are completing coursework in a TEACH Grant eligible program. Recipients are required to complete four years of qualified teaching service within the first eight years after completing or withdrawing from their TEACH Grant approved program. We recommend that only students who are committed to teaching a high-need subject in a designated low-income school upon graduation should consider the grant. If you have not already met with an academic advisor to discuss your eligibility for and interest in receiving a TEACH Grant, we recommend you do so before completing this application. Failure to meet this or any other requirement of the TEACH Grant will result in the grant converting into a Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan, with interest assessed from the date of the first disbursement.

Are you an undergraduate student pursuing your initial Bachelor's degree or a graduate student pursuing an initial Master's degree?*
TEACH Grants are only eligible for students pursuing their 1st Bachelor's degree or 1st Master's degree. Those pursuing subsequent bachelor's or master's degrees are not eligible to receive a TEACH Grant. Enrollment solely in a post-baccalaureate teacher certification program is not eligible.
Eligible programs are those that prepare a student to teach in a high-need area. If you are unsure of the program in which you are enrolled, please contact your advisor or the Teacher Education Department. Only those in this list qualify for the TEACH Grant.
If your academic program qualified you to receive a TEACH Grant when you received your first disbursement of funds, you maintain eligibility to receive additional TEACH Grants in subsequent years under that same program as long as you maintain continuous enrollment. You are required to fulfill each Agreement to Serve (ATS) previously signed, even if your degree program is no longer designated as a high-need area in subsequent years.
